Your first steps with KLSTR. devices
This guide walks you through unboxing, connecting, and discovering your first KLSTR. device using KLSTR.ctrl.
What you’ll need
- A KLSTR.one or KLSTR.nano device
- An Ethernet cable (Cat5e or better)
- A computer with KLSTR.ctrl installed
- A network switch (or direct connection)
Setup
- Unbox your device
Remove the KLSTR. device from its packaging. You’ll find the device, a quick-start card, and (for KLSTR.one) a mounting bracket. - Connect power
Connect the device to a power source. The KLSTR.one uses a standard barrel connector (12-24V DC). The KLSTR.nano is powered via the fixture’s internal supply. The status LED will turn amber during boot. - Connect to the network
Plug an Ethernet cable into the device’s RJ45 port and connect the other end to your network switch or directly to your computer. The link LED should illuminate. - Open KLSTR.ctrl
Launch the KLSTR.ctrl application on your computer. Navigate to the discovery panel. Your device should appear within a few seconds. - Assign a universe
Click on your device in the discovery list. Assign it an Art-Net universe and optionally set a device label for easy identification. - Test the connection
Use the DMX output panel in KLSTR.ctrl to send test values. Your connected fixture should respond to the DMX signal.
Tip
If your device doesn’t appear in discovery, check the Connectivity FAQ for troubleshooting steps.
